Shivaji’s legacy is undoubtedly significant in the context of Indian history, and the entire nation should do the celebration of his Jayanthi. Announcing February 19th as a HINDAVI SWARAJYA ABHIYAN DIWAS & National Holiday is a tribute to his contributions to the country.

Commencement of “NATIONAL HOLIDAY FOR NATIONAL HERO

A great devotee of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj always wanted to pay tribute to his God Shivaji Maharaj. He aspired to make a significant contribution to the legacy of Shivaji. To fulfill this ambition, he conceived the idea of advocating for the declaration of Shivaji Jayanti as a national holiday.

He is none other than Mr. CD Chavan. He is a self-made entrepreneur who has achieved great heights of success with hard work, determination and discipline. He is a person who greatly admires Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj wished to do something significant for the nation. He came up with the idea of declaring Shivaji Jayanti a national holiday as a gesture of respect and recognition for the revered leader.

> We invite volunteers across India to join our team as State In charges, District In charges, Committee Members to promote and actively work on our Mission.

> Our campaign got more than 1 lakh support who wants to work for Hindu Rashtra. But, we believe that our campaign “National Holiday for National Hero” and “Hindavi Swarajya Abhiyan Divas” is the 1st step towards achieving the Hindu Rashtra.

> Achieving a Hindu Rashtra is challenging without giving due recognition to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He is Epitome of Swarajya and serves as an inspiration and guide toward Hindu Rashtra.

Why We Need a Holiday & Benefits of Declaring Hindavi Swarajya Abhiyan Diwas?

This can be achieved through legislative action and public awareness programs. Additionally, the government can support the campaign by organizing nationwide events, educational initiatives, and cultural programs to highlight Maharaj’s contributions. As time evolves, so do the needs for more meticulously managed plots for sale in Oragadam and other parts of the country. Today’s astute real estate investors have exceptionally high expectations. They demand not only high-quality plots for sale but also excellence in service, safety for their investments, and best-in-class social and civic infrastructure.

Having an experience of over 40 years, the Hiranandani Group has been able to successfully cater to the evolving needs of today’s customers. Hiranandani Gardens, at Mumbai and Hiranandani Estate, at Thane are award-winning townships and are shining examples of harmonious township living.

After the success of two phases of plotted development at Hiranandani Parks, Chennai, Tierra III was launched to cater to the growing demands of quality villa plots in Chennai within a mixed-use, integrated township. Hiranandani Parks is a 360-acre township, located at Oragadam, south-west of Chennai. The township boasts a fine mix of residential towers and neo-classical villas and offers managed villa plots in Oragadam.

The new launch, Tierra III spans 25 acres, with sizes ranging between 600 to 4000 sqft. With ‘managed plots’ being the underlying philosophy, key features include 100% clear title with immediate patta transfer, clearly defined plot boundaries, plug ‘n’ play civic infrastructure, villa design and build assistance – to maintain the architectural ethos of the township. Plots for sale in Oragadam are now available at Tierra III.

Understanding the need and affinity of the Chennai micro market, Dr Niranjan Hiranandani was perhaps one of the first national-level developers to launch villa plotted development with robust infrastructure in an integrated township. Commenting on the latest launch, Dr Hiranandani opines, “Investing in real estate, when done with prudence, and diligent management, makes it one of the most secure investments globally. The new launch, Tierra III at Hiranandani Parks covers nearly 5,00,000 sq ft. of plotted development.”

Elaborating further, N Shridhar, Director – Group Strategy, Hiranandani commented, “Oragadam, as a location, has seen a surge in economic development over the past 5 years. Adding to its already established automotive manufacturing, other industries like wind technology, IT/ITeS, and mobile phone manufacturing – now call Oragadam and its immediate vicinity their home. Which, in turn, creates a robust demand for good-quality housing. A project like Hiranandani Parks, in its small life cycle, has provided impressive returns on plots to its earliest investors. At the township level, we as the Hiranandani Group have already sketched a road map that includes new residential segments, to add to the vibrancy of the existing product mix.”

The concept of an integrated, mixed-use township holds true. The presence of The Indian Public School (TIPS), Rela Hospital, Nilgiris Supermarket, multi-cuisine restaurants, a 55-acre golf course, a grand clubhouse, 7-themed gardens and more makes this township a hub for fine living with ample recreational activities.

Masterpieces by surrealist Salvador Dalí, Colombian painter and sculptor Fernando Botero, American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, can be found across the island. Along with showcasing works of renowned stalwart artists, Singapore is also focused on nurturing home-grown and regional talents. One such artist is Aryan Arora.

Aryan’s journey, stemming from a small town called Saharanpur in India, began with a series of pressing ‘Whys’. Having studied in Welham boarding school in Dehradun most of his life, he figured out that he was born to disrupt. The deep-rooted patriarchal ideals he realised led him to question the very fabric of society. Though he did not aspire to take up art and was happy studying academics, destiny had other plans in store for him. ‘I remember when I was locked in a room filled with canvas and paint in my school, I just started painting. I did not step out for a few hours till I completed my first painting’ he says.

His journey into art began there, and it wasn’t long before he realised that art had chosen him. He wanted to study visual arts outside India so he can explore the form beyond societal boundaries. He chose Lasalle College of Arts in a city known as the melting pot of cultures – Singapore. Little did he know that this decision would alter his life forever and Singapore would become home.

The years he spent in the art college ignited his mind to think beyond the canvas, using art as a tool for deeper expression. ‘Art is coming face to face with oneself’ he realised. During this journey he took on many projects with some of the most renowned brands like Netflix, Google, Singapore Tourism Board, Channel News Asia and exhibited his works at Art Outreach SG, Visual Art Centre SG, Institute of Contemporary Arts SG, Mumbai International Airport as a Creative Artist.

But he truly found joy in the world of performance art. One of Aryan’s earliest performances was an embodiment of vulnerability, where he covered himself in black and charcoal, grappling with deep-seated insecurities about his body image. Yet, it was two years later that a stirring evolution occurred. Aryan created a performance that embraced the natural, preserving essence of honey—a metaphorical shield that softened his perceived imperfections. ‘People always call their loved ones honey. I wanted to pour honey on my body and embrace it for the way it is and call myself honey. This theme resumed in subsequent works, where he had shoots depicting individuals standing before each other, their bodies cocooned in honey. Initially unable to meet each other’s gaze, they eventually found the courage to look—a process that became a liberating and healing art therapy, filling a void that once existed and becoming aware of the void, as they tried to fill it. The Void Series was displayed at the Substation Gallery at the Visual Arts centre. He is deeply passionate about body positivity and the importance of good mental health. His Dripping Honey series resonates with the melody of hyperrealism, his Glitter series subtly champions acceptance, while his Mental Issues series visibly unsettles the mind. His interpretation of Michelangelo’s The Recreation of Adam was displayed at the reputed Art Outreach Singapore at Gillman Barracks Art Gallery. He painted Adam with a darker complexion to break the stereotype and showcased it with My Sweet Indulgence series talking about male gaze and gender related issues. His Spectrum Series  was displayed at The Institute of Contemporary Arts ICA, Singapore. He says ‘In the act of creation, he both discovered and lost himself.’

Today, Aryan Arora stands out as one of Singapore’s most promising and talented artists, known for addressing various social and taboo issues through his work. ‘When I first began studying, I didn’t know my art’s purpose. Though it evolves, I now see it as a scream of freedom. I want my impact to outlast me,’ he says.

His next exhibition, ‘Silent Dialogues,’ presented by Maven Ira Gallery, a wing of Mavendoer, explores internal conflicts and contemplations. This series of 15 monochromatic paintings explores the duality of black and white, with only two graced by colour. The artworks delve into the theme of masks—masks that people wear unknowingly, even alone. Each artwork is a thoughtful dialogue, a silent plea that echoes the sentiment, ‘Somebody save me, me from myself.’ The private viewing of the exhibition is happening at Club El Pico on the 30th of August followed by the exhibition from 1st to 10th of September 2024.

The Mumbai sky was ablaze with the hues of twilight, as a gathering of the city’s most stylish converged at the enchanting Fame Garden Restaurant, in Powai. The occasion? The fourth edition of Sarees & Sangrias, a brainchild of the dynamic duo, Ramya Rao and Kavea Chavali, co-founders of Kalaneca House of Handlooms.

Kalaneca, a label synonymous with exquisite handwoven sarees, has managed to seamlessly blend tradition with contemporary allure. The twin sisters have actively been working with more than 70 weavers across 145 looms to weave handmade masterpieces that can be worn for generations. Their vision for Sarees & Sangrias was to create a platform where heritage, artisanal masterworks and modern aesthetics can coexist, fostering a community of like-minded individuals.

The twins decided to take the saree conversation forward by curating a soiree celebrating both the brands and the guests. Sarees & Sangrias, previously held editions across Bangalore and Hyderabad as well, and after seeing the positive response from the guests, decided on the maximum city, Mumbai for their 4th edition, which also marked the 1st anniversary for the concept.

For this edition, Kalaneca partnered with Lavenderoom, a content platform on holistic beauty by Aparrna Gupta, who has previously worked with Vogue and Elle. The execution was handled by KalaNomad, who help produce events in the Indian art and culture space.

The evening unfolded as a symphony of senses. The air was thick with interesting conversations, and handcrafted sangrias, while the curated selection of artisanal brands added a touch of bohemian chic to the proceedings. Oceana Clutches, Esha Lal Swimwear, Zukti Jewellery, and other coveted labels like Kavita Bhandari Arts, Roshni Candles, Taufaa by Bhavana, Cinnamon Lifestyle and more, showcased their collections, offering guests a plethora of options to elevate their personal style.

But the evening was more than just shopping and sipping. It was a celebration of women, their stories, and their aspirations. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the conversation flowed freely, punctuated by laughter and the clinking of glasses accompanied by live music performances. • Prioritize Subjects: Focus on your strengths and high-scoring areas first. For instance, dedicate ample time to revising key topics in General Studies Papers I to IV, ensuring a strong foundation in areas like Polity, Geography, Economy, Ethics, and social issues.

2. Effective Revision Techniques

  • Stick to Your Notes: Stick to your well-curated notes and avoid new materials to strengthen your confidence and reinforce what you’ve already learned.
  • Focus on Integration: Integrate facts, dimensions, case studies, and examples into your answers. Use tools like flowcharts and mind maps to organize complex information, making it easier to recall during the exam.

3. Mastering Answer Writing

  • Practice Structured Writing: During Abhyaas Mock Tests, focus on clear introductions, logically developed main bodies and concise conclusions. Ensure each answer has a coherent flow and effectively communicates key points.
  • Incorporate Visual Aids: Where applicable, enhance your answers with diagrams, flowcharts, and data. For example, in questions related to environmental policies, a well-drawn diagram can effectively illustrate your point and make your answer stand out.

4. Time Management is Key

  • Simulate Exam Conditions: Stick to the time limits for each question and develop a sense of pacing that ensures you can complete the paper without rushing or leaving questions unanswered.
  • Analyze and Adjust: After each test, identify sections where you spent too much time and develop strategies to improve efficiency. This practice will help you optimize your time during the actual exam.

Pre-Exam and Exam Day Tips: Simulating the Real UPSC Mains Experience

Since Abhyaas is designed to closely replicate the UPSC Mains exam environment, it’s crucial to follow the same routine and adhere to the same practices you plan to implement on the actual exam day. Here are some tips to ensure you’re fully prepared:

Pre-Exam Day Tips

  • Get Ample Rest: Ensure you get a good night’s sleep before each test. Avoid cramming late into the night; instead, trust your preparation and go to bed early.
  • Organize Your Materials: Prepare your test materials the night before. This includes your admit card, stationery, and other essentials you’ll need for the mock test.
  • Review Key Points: On the morning of the test, briefly review your notes, focusing on key points and summaries.

Exam Day Tips

  • Arrive Early: Just as you would for the actual UPSC Mains, arrive at the test center early to avoid any last-minute rush or stress.
  • Follow Your Routine: Eat a light, nutritious meal before the test to maintain energy levels. Stay hydrated, but avoid excessive caffeine.
  • Stay Calm and Focused: Once the test begins, keep calm and focus on the task at hand. If you encounter a challenging question, move on and return to it later rather than spending too much time on it.
  • Time Management: Keep a close eye on the clock, but don’t let it distract you. Develop a rhythm that allows you to balance speed with accuracy.
  • Read the questions carefully: Carefully read each question, underline the key requirements, and ensure that your answer aligns precisely with the demand of the question.
  • Pay attention to instructions: Read the instructions stated on the question paper carefully and thoroughly to ensure you fully understand the requirements before beginning your answers.
  • Avoid writing in Margin: Avoid writing in margins, using religious references, personal names, or irrelevant content, as UPSC may impose penalties. Do not disclose identity, use signatures, or mix languages.

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” As you gear up for the UPSC Mains 2024, remember that your ability to envision success, coupled with dedicated practice and meticulous planning, will be your greatest strength.
